Symposium Aims and Goals
The nineteenth annual meeting of the Symposium on Mediterranean Archaeology (SOMA) will be held in Kemer/Antalya (Turkey) from the 12th to the 14th of November 2015. As it has been in the past, this symposium will continue to provide an important opportunity for scholars and researchers to come together and discuss their works in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Our spectrum is growing wider due to the increased importance and knowledge of interdisciplinary works in today’s scientific era.

Papers
The papers will be grouped into different sessions dedicated to the
different and related regions of the Mediterranean. These are as
follows:
1. The Western Mediterranean
2. The Central Mediterranean
3. The Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean
4. The Black Sea
5. The Near East and Egypt
6. Mediterranean Interactions
Also papers regarding the following themes will be accepted:
– Archaeometry
– Marine / Seamanship History
– Conservation, preservation and archaeological site management
– Restoration and Museology
There are no other limitations regarding the subject and the period, but special consideration will be given to papers adopting an innovative theoretical and methodological approach.
Please note: no papers dealing with unprovenanced artifacts will be accepted.
The conference language will be English in order to maintain the usual organization of SOMA conferences. No translation services will be available during the congress.
All speakers are requested to observe a 20 minute limit for presented papers. Presentations will be given as Power Point (.ppt) presentations.
Registration
Abstracts must be written in English and should be approximately 3000 characters in length (Title 200 characters).
Submission of abstracts: Until 15 September of 2015.
Registered participants will be notified about their abstract acceptance until 20 September of 2015. Information on accepted proposals will be sent, via e-mail, by this date. To submit an abstract, please fill-in the registration form from the official website: www.genama.info or www.phaselis.org/soma2015 and submit the abstract to: soma2015antalya@gmail.com
The Deadline for Symposium registration is 15 September 2015.
The registration fee for speakers and authors is 70 € (for each) until 1 September 2015, rising to 90 € after 1 September 2015.
Students will pay a reduced fee of 55 € until 1 September 2015, rising to 75 € after 1 September 2015.
Payments are under the GAMA Network responsibility and it is possible pay via PayPal from www.genama.info
To register as a student, please send the number and validity period of your Student Card. Please note that student IDs will be checked during registration. The registration fee for the congress covers attendance to all congress sessions, the congress welcome kit (program, abstracts, city plans etc.), symposium proceedings that follow the conference, coffee breaks and welcome drinks.

The proceedings of the symposium will be published by Archaeopress within the electronic publishing of archaeopress archaeology series. The Abstracts will be published by the organizers. Submission of the full papers is due by 1 September 2015 by the file transfer system or to our e-mail address. Please read the writing rules.

How To Come
Symposium will be held in Kemer/Antalya (Turkey) from the 12th to the 14th of November 2015.
There are many direct and charter flights and also undirect flights via Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir to ANTALYA airport.
Organization will organize two bus for the transfer from Airport to Kemer. But if your arrival do not fit to the transfer hours you may come via airport shuttle to the city bus terminal and You may come by bus from the city bus terminal to the center of Kemer. You will be informed about the transfer hours before the symposium.
